Fire Program

MU FRTI Fire programs includes a wide variety of firefighter training programs. Most, if not all, of these programs can be delivered in local fire departments. Fire Program division of the Institute includes all aspects of firefighter training including basic skill courses to advanced incident command training and leadership training.

To request a course from us, simply contact the MU FRTI Regional Training Coordinator in your region. These individuals are assigned regions based on the Highway Troop regions. Once you have contacted your Regional Training Coordinator, they will find an instructor on the date you requested and then submit the request to the office in Columbia. From there you will receive a course confirmation, be asked to assist in marketing the course in your area and insure that we have at least 12-15 people for the class. Depending on the course, the host site will be responsible for providing certain equipment. Your Regional Training Coordinator prior to setting up the course addresses all of these issues.

Every two years, we publish and mail to all fire departments and state certified instructors our Course Catalog. This catalog lists all of the courses available from MU FRTI. The catalog can also be downloaded from this Web site. From the catalog, local fire departments can select courses that meet their need.

To request a program for your department, contact your Regional Training Coordinator or MU FRTI at (800) 869-4576.
