This workshop will provide the necessary training and education required for newly appointed fire district board members under Missouri state law. The Missouri Association of Fire Protection Districts has developed the curriculum used in this class to assist new board members in understanding legal liabilities and personal obligations of their position. Topics include: authority of the board, responsibilities, rules, laws of elected boards, elections, and how to preside at a meeting.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with an integrated synopsis of program innovations, consensus reviews, and research findings relevant to crisis and disaster mental health intervention. As the ICISF curriculum has undergone significant changes in the last 12 months, this workshop is offered as a "one stop shopping" opportunity to gain the latest information on issues and changes that are essential to the domains of critical incident stress management, crisis and disaster response. This is a competency-based workshop that will serve to satisfy ICISF requirements for ICISF Trained Trainers and those seeking Certificates of Advanced Training. This workshop is intended for anyone who has an interest in crisis and disaster mental health intervention.

This program was conceived and developed by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation's Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program Team and underscores the need for a change of fundamental attitudes and behaviors in order to encourage firefighters to do the right thing so, "Everyone Goes Home."
The objectives for this train-the-trainer focus on the instructional components of:
- Understanding and describing the primary causes of firefighter fatalities - nationally and locally.
- Recognizing the impact of firefighter fatalities on survivors and associated groups.
- Understand and describe the 16 life safety initiatives.
- Develop strategies for turning the 16 initiatives into action steps.
- Provide critical follow up in support of the goal that Everyone Goes Home.
